Our Sheep

We raise pure-bred Katahdin sheep which are a hair breed, meaning they naturally shed and do not produce wool or need to be sheered but they do produce pelts once processed. Meat from Katahdin sheep is naturally very mild in flavor, it does not taste like mutton!

Our sheep are rotationally grazed through our pasture along with our goats and cows. We move them every 3 days to cut down on parasite pressure since eggs hatch into larvae around 3-4 days; this significantly reduces our need to treat animals for parasites.

We have lambs born every spring!

Our Rams

We have two rams for breeding: J.D. (left) and Scarface (right). Throughout the year they live separately from the sheep, but during breeding season in the fall, one lucky guy goes in with all the girls.
