We have 3 livestock guardian dogs (LGDs). One adult named Tess who is our full-time guardian, and two sibling puppies named Waylon and Willow who are guardians in training! Once fully trained, they will be like Tess, out with all of the animals in the pasture full time. Just the presence of LGDs keeps predators such as coyotes at bay, because K9s are very territorial. So far, we have never had an issue, but if we did, Tess would be on the frontlines to protect the animals. LGDs have incredible instincts and would lay down their life to protect those they guard. They are truly amazing!
